Political Science is one of the 14 departments within the College of Liberal Arts, the University’s largest college. Each semester more than 50 percent of the entire undergraduate population enrolls in College of Liberal Arts classes.
A liberal arts education will challenge you to explore the human condition as you gain skills that will serve you well in the “knowledge economy” of the twenty-first century: the ability to think critically, analyze and synthesize information, solve problems, and express yourself effectively.
Our department offers more than 85 classes in five areas: American government, international relations, comparative politics, political theory and public administration and public policy. Our department also offers a number of invaluable internship programs, including with the Nevada State legislature, local public service organizations, Congressional, federal agency and political party interns in Washington D.C.
