The following report describes the proposed redesign of the East Wastewater TreatmentFacility (EWWTP) for the City of Fernley, Nevada. The existing facility is designed for a flow of3.4 MGD, but by the end of the 30-year design period in 2045, the projected maximum flow willrise to 5.45 MGD. The goal of this design is to modify and expand upon the existing treatmentplant to allow the City of Fernley to treat the 30-year flow and produce an effluent of sufficientquality to use as irrigation water. Based on the evaluation of existing facilities and typical designparameters for small wastewater treatment facilities, a conventional design including gritremoval, biological treatment, nitrification, secondary clarification, filtration, and disinfection isproposed. Design information for the addition of optional primary clarifiers is also included.
