Abstract
This thesis examines artistic expression through feminist art theory literature review and
indepth
analysis of original works of Frida Kahlo and myself. This thesis informs those
who view my artwork about the theme of identity, such as the intersectionality
between gender, race and ethnicity that are reflected in my artwork. This thesis
explores my inner evolution of artistic expression through fine art and videography as
colored by my life experiences of ethnic identity and physical or emotional pain, and
opens my artwork up for discussion.
