Analyzing the Importance of Coarse Woody Debris to Water Quality in a Temperate Lake
StatisticsView Usage Statistics
This study quantifies the effects of the presence of coarse woody debris in temperate lake littoral zone water. Using field collection and laboratory experimental design, treatments containing coarse woody debris in various amounts were compared to two control treatments. These experimental and control treatments were monitored for twenty three days and Dissolved Oxygen (DO), chlorophyll, nitrogen and organic carbon content of the treatments were analyzed statistically. The findings of this study illuminate the impacts of coarse woody debris in temperate lake systems, advocating for conservation measures in a changing climate.
