The petrography, alteration, and mineralization of igneous dikes of the Jerritt Canyon District have been studied. Four types of igneous dikes intrude the sedimentary rocks and two are locally gold ore. The oldest and most abundant dikes are andesite which contain evidence to support at least two alteration events prior to gold deposition.
