Procedures for electrowinning high-purity cerium and lanthanum metals from their oxides were developed at the Reno Metallurgy Research Center of the Federal Bureau of Mines. Experiments requisite to developing these procedures were planned and performed under the supervision of Edward Morrice, Extractive Metallurgist. Mr. Morrice is the senior author of the attached Reports of Investigation, 5549, 5868, and 607 5, which contain the pertinent metallurgical laboratory data.
