Electrorefining of scrap in a basic amine electrolyte

An electro-refining process suitable for treating copper scrap is described. Laboratory experiments indicate that this process is capable of refining copper to a purity of 95% from an electrolyte saturated with the metallic impurities commonly found with copper scrap.
