Hydrophobic bacteria mycobacterium phlei as flocculating agent and flotation collector for hematite (University of Nevada, Reno, 1992)M. phlei is an excellent flotation collector for hematite. Furthermore, M. phlei is flocculent for hematite. The flotation of hematite with M. phlei can be explained using the DLVO theory.
