Correlation of the fauna from the Middle Permian section at Black Rock, northwestern Nevada

Faunules found at Black Rock were studied and compared. The Anidanthus-Spiriferella faunule is dominated by brachiopods, bryozoa, and sponges. The Medlicottia faunule is contained in a volcano-clastic dominated limestone.

Surface and subsurface vertical sequences of the Cretaceous Ferron Sandstone of east-central Utah were studied in order to determine the stratigraphy and depositional history of this complex clastic wedge.
