University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is the unit that puts university research to work—in your home, workplace or community. We're in every corner of Nevada, helping you learn parenting skills, conserve water in your garden and thrive economically.

We're the outreach unit of the University that brings you information to solve problems and deal with critical issues. We have 18 offices to serve you, whether you live on a ranch near the remote Rubies or in an urban setting in Las Vegas.

For over 100 years, Cooperative Extension has been delivering impactful programs across the state of Nevada. The founders never dreamed we would one day be teaching people in such a variety of unique ways, thanks to technology. We reach people when they are in their homes, workplaces, schools and communities via the Internet, live interactive video, email, telephone, and in-person workshops and one-on-one assistance. We have certainly come a long way from our early days when we traveled the dirt roads in buggies.

The issues have changed over the years, but the need to provide research-based useful information in real time to the citizens of Nevada remains essential for progress and for meeting challenges faced by Nevada's communities. Today, we still help farmers and ranchers with management of water resources, control of noxious weeds and resolution of public-land disputes. However, we also assist urban and rural families with programs in nutrition and health, youth literacy and STEM learning, youth development and leadership, and community and workforce development. With local needs at the forefront and working with many partners, we identify, develop and implement programs to meet those needs.
